Before our Monday Motivation I want to remind you to read the weekly newsletters. Parents can find the newsletter in the Parent roll down menu or by clicking this link. Students can find the newsletter by scrolling through the Student Information menu. Do you agree or disagree that happy people are more successful? Can you share an example of a time your happiness led to success?
For example: One time my happiness led to success was when I was in 4th grade. We were doing a project/game called the "Oregon Trail". The object of the game was to travel with your group across America and settle in Oregon. I was very happy doing this project because of the group I was in. We all got along together and had fun, which made me happy. I think because I was happy my group was successful.

I saw this TED Talk about a 12 year old App designer and immediately knew it had to be a part of our Monday Motivation series. On a blog post from TED I read, "Perhaps you have used Thomas Suarez’s most famous iPhone app, the whack-a-mole game “Bustin Jeiber”? While most kids his age were playing online games, Suarez was learning how to make them. At TEDxManhattanBeach, he shares how he is sharing his knowledge and teaching other kids to develop apps too." Watch the video below and then leave a comment that states a learning from his talk or a question you have regarding his talk. I love this video. It makes me smile and inspires me to be brave. Sometimes I worry what other people will think if I do something different, but this video was a nice reminder to be myself, have fun, and forget what others think. I would love to do a 5A remake of this video. What do you think? Leave your comments below. What is something you have wanted to give up in, but you kept going and ended up successful? Comment below.
I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I am in a bad mood or sad the answer is to DANCE! Check out our favorite, Kid President, busting a move! Happy Monday! So often we focus on the things we don't have, rather than being grateful for what we do have. Nick Vujicic could easily complain and be ungrateful, but he chose the opposite. What did you learn from this video? Share an act of kindness you will do for someone this week to spread awesomeness! I am going to make a sweet treat (cake pops) for the cleaning ladies at school. I want them to know we really appreciate all the time they spend making our room clean. How are you going to make the world more awesome? Sometimes Mondays are hard, but after watching this video I felt energized and blessed to be alive! What are things that motivate you to be your best possible self? Comment Below! |
